Maria SingerAssistant Band Director/Percussion Director
[email protected] Mrs. Maria Singer began teaching in Katy ISD in 2017 and is excited to join Katy HS as an assistant band director & percussion director in 2022! She also serves on the educational staff of WGI World Finalist Rhythmic Force. Mrs. Singer graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 2017 under the direction of phenomenal educators and conductors including Dr. Mary Ellen Cavitt, Dr. Caroline Beatty, Dr. Kyle Glaser, Mr. Matt Holzner, Mrs. Kari Klier, and Mr. Bobby Lopez. She was an active performer in the Texas State Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Panorama Steel Drum Band, and numerous Latin ensembles. Mrs. Singer also marched with Texas State Indoor Percussion in 2012 and Teatro Indoor Percussion in 2014, where she won a gold medal at the TCGC Championship. Afterward, she taught Indoor Percussion at Morton Ranch High School and Rhythmic Force. She is a proud sponsor of Innovative Percussion Inc. Mrs. Singer is an active member of Texas Music Educators Association, Kappa Kappa Psi Alumni Association, Percussive Arts Society, and Texas Bandmasters Association. |
