The backbone of our organization...

The Katy Band relies heavily on its volunteers for everything from football games and competitions to fundraisers. As we continue to strive for excellence, we would like to kindly ask you to consider volunteering your time and skills to support our organization. Volunteering not only provides invaluable assistance in organizing events and activities, but it also fosters a strong sense of community and teamwork among band members, parents, and staff.  Your contributions, whether big or small, play a crucial role in the success of our band and the overall well-being of our students. Thank you for your continued support and we hope you will consider joining us in this important effort. 

VOLUNTEER and event DESCRIPTIONS

FOOTBALL GAMES - Chaperone
Ride the bus, stay with band during football game. Training provided.

MARCHING CONTESTS - Chaperone
Ride the bus, stay with students for the full day of contest.

UNIFORMS - help with fitting kids during marching and concert season and helping to prepare for cleaning and organizing uniforms upon return from the cleaners

PRE-GAME MEALS - Help hand out water and pre-game meals before football games.

KATY ISD MARCHING FESTIVAL - Helping with district assigned positions such as parking or field help. The band receives some of the income!

SHOWCASE - Work concessions or spirit store at the unveiling of our marching band show. Takes place the week before school starts.

BIG MONEY DAY - Volunteers to hand out items, help treasurer to make copies, set up and tear down.

SUPPORT CREW FOR FOOTBALL GAMES - So important it has its own volunteer base! Arrives early to load and prepare trailers for football game.  Helps unload props and on the field for half time.

SPIRIT STORE - Volunteers needed to work the spirit store tables at football game and other events.

FUNDRAISING - Help support any fundraiser through organization, paperwork, communication with directors, parents, and the fundraising company, etc. 

SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY - Jazz Band fundraiser event for the community. Help procure a venue, set up, decorate, organize student volunteers, and publicize the event.

BAND BANQUET -  End of year banquet for parents and students to celebrate the year. Awards and scholarships are presented, and the show is unveiled.

Major events

As we get closer to the marching season as well as major events, a link for volunteers to sign-up through sing-up genius will be sent out via CutTime. Please be sure your information in CutTime is up to date. CutTime is how we as the KHSBBA and Directors communicate most effectively.
