[email protected] Dale Fremin is Associate Band Director at Katy High School where he conducts the Cadet, Symphonic, and Jazz Lab Bands. He also teaches all facets of the marching program and full orchestra. Mr. Fremin began teaching as head band director at H.L. Bourgeois High School in Grey, Louisiana. After a year, he moved to Texas to take an assistant band director position at La Porte High School where he taught all percussion activities for the district as well as the La Porte High School Concert Band. He remained in La Porte, eventually becoming head band director in 2002. While at La Porte his concert and marching bands received Superior ratings as well as being named Outstanding in Class at various festivals. During his tenure, La Porte’s percussion and guard also were fortunate enough to medal at the TCGC championships. Mr. Fremin is a native of Thibodaux, Louisiana and graduated from Thibodaux High School in 1987. He received a Bachelor’s in Music Education degree from Louisiana State University where he studied conducting with Frank Wickes and euphonium with Larry Cambell, Dr. Ross Walter, and Robert Harrold. While at LSU he performed with the Sudler Trophy winning Golden Band from Tigerland, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band(trombone),Jazz Band(trombone), Low Brass Ensemble and Basketball Band. Mr. Fremin’s professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the National Band Association. He also was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda-Music Honor Society. He is married to Lindsey Pharr Fremin and has three daughters, Lola, Natalie, and Noelle. |
